About

My name is Nalini Calamur and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I am a cisgender, bisexual, multicultural woman. My passion is working with multicultural couples and families. I have experience working with individuals, adolescents, couples, and families struggling with the impacts of complex trauma, eating disorders, substance use, suicide, unresolved conflict, anxiety, and depression in multiple treatment settings.

Much of my experience was gained in working with multicultural and populations in Community Mental Health Settings including: Bay Area Addiction Research and Treatment, the Community Institute for Psychotherapy, the Carl B. Metoyer Center for Family Counseling, Lincoln Families in their Multi-Dimensional Family Therapy program, and the Bay Area Center for Psychotherapy.

Most of us struggle with self-compassion. We are wounded in relationship, either by family members, community members, or the world at large. Because we are wounded in relationship, we can heal in relationship. I work from a relational, attachment, and experiential frame that supports self-acceptance, self-inquiry, emotional expression, and self-compassion.
